About Me

owner

I was born in Florida and lived in Buenos Aires, Argentina for many of my formative years. I obtained a degree in Psychology in 1990 and I am licensed to work as a psychologist in Argentina. I was originally trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy and obtained a certificate of completion at Sigmund Freud Center for Psychoanalytic Studies in 1994. I worked at a hospital and in private practice for a few years in Argentina.

I obtained a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in 1999 from Nova Southeastern University, in Florida. Training in various theories and therapeutic approaches prepared me to work systemically with clients, viewing problems from a relational perspective, and focusing primarily on current patterns of interactions among family members.

I became a certified Imago Relationship therapist in 2021. Imago therapy integrates mainly (but not exclusively) in-depth psychotherapy with systemic approaches and it has prepared me to use a variety of interventions that are particularly helpful with couples. Within a safe and supportive environment couples can explore their past experiences and present dynamics in a constructive way, promoting healing and growth within the relationship.

I view psychotherapy as a process of exploration that leads to further understanding of oneself and others. By exploring our current relationship patterns and those from our family history and past relationships, we become aware of a variety of factors that influence our expectations and behavior. By engaging in authentic and non-judgmental conversation, we can generate new and creative ways of thinking that lead to constructively viewing and managing the problems presented. This way, we may experience personal and relationship growth as well as opportunities for making choices that lead to the improvement of the overall quality of our lives.

I have been in private practice in Florida since 2003. I am a clinical member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), of Imago Relationships North America (IRNA), and of the Systemic Association of Buenos Aires (ASIBA)

I work equally comfortably in both English and Spanish, with people from a variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

I am married and have two sons.
